I wrote this song when I was thinking about a toxic relationship I had been in years ago. I tried to reflect on the uncomfortable feeling of being continuously hurt by someone, but still loving them. Each time they hurt me, it made me love them less and less, even though I still had hope that things would get better with time. It was a painful time in my life.
